We believe the bible is the inspired word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and documented as the Holy Spirit moved them. The bible is our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
We believe God is one, but manifest in three persons -- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit -- being co-equal. (Deut 6:4)
We believe man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifest to undo the works of the devil and gave His life, shedding His blood, to redeem and restore man back to God. (Rom 3:10; 3:23; Rom 5:14-15; John 1:4)
We believe salvation is the free gift of God to all people. Salvation is separate from works and separate from the law. It is by God's grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. The salvation experience allows people to produce works acceptable to God. (Ephesians 2:8-10)
We believe water baptism is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. (Col. 2:12)
We believe the word of God teaches that without holiness, no one will see God. Salvation is inclusive in the ongoing work of sanctification, a progressive work of God's grace throughout the life of a believer. (2 Cor. 3:18; Phil 3:12-14; 1 Thess. 5:23)
We believe in the resurrection of the just and the return of the Lord. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess 5:23)
We believe those who leave this life without having made Jesus Christ their personal Lord &Savior are hopelessly and eternally lost and therefore have no further opportunity of hearing the gospel and coming to repentance. (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20)
We believe the baptism in the Holy Ghost is a free gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus to all believers in this dispensation. It is received subsequent to the new birth. For this reason we accept the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. (Matt 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8)
We believe divine healing is for the physical ills of the body and is wrought by the power of God through prayer and faith and by the laying on of hands. Healing can also come as a result of deliverance. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ. (James 5"14-15; Mark 16:18; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matt 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24) |
